FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will it take to receive my stamp?

The manufacturer ships in 10 business days.  Please click here to view the UPS shipping chart to calculate the additional transportation time to your state.

What does "officially licensed" mean?

All the stamps you see on this web have been "officially licensed" by the manufacturer, which means they have obtained permission from each institution.  As part of the licensing agreement, the institution receives a royalty fee based on the sale.  So each purchase you make will benefit the school or organization you choose!

What is the character limit?

55 characters including spaces.  If your text goes over this limit, the stamp will still be made; however, the manufacturer does not take responsibility for the outcome of the text on orders over the limit.  The more characters and spaces you have, the smaller and more squished the text will become.

How long do the stamps last?

Black ink comes standard in the stamp and should last between 8,000 - 10,000 impressions.  Each color cartridge has a shelf life of about 6 months to a year.  Ink cartridges are very easy to use, child-safe and are completely contained (so no mess).

What if I don't see my school or sorority listed?

Only the institutions shown are available at this time.  However, the manufacturer accepts requests for new institutions.  While they do not guarantee your school will be licensed, you can check back periodically for updates.  Note that new licenses can take up to 6 months to process.  Please contact us at colleges@varsitystamps.com and we will forward your request.

What are the notes like?

They are white fold-over notes made of 80lb cover stock, include a white square-flap envelope and are sold in boxes of 10.  Simply choose your design (Swiss Dots or Lily Pad) and favorite color (or color closest to your school's colors) and you are all set to make your own personalized stationery.

What is a Stamp Centering Block?

This handy desktop tool will help you place the stamp image exactly where you want it.  Because the stamp fits perfectly inside the Block, you will get precise placement every time.  Simply place the center hole of the Block over the spot you want to stamp, use the side guidelines for precision, insert the stamp and hold steady.  Great for note cards, stickers, envelopes, books and wherever else you want to make your mark.

Is the Block necessary?

Not necessarily.  Some people have a really great eye for this kind of stuff, others do not.  It certainly doesn't hurt to have one around, but if you're good at it, you won't need it.
